Jenny Foster selected as associate principal at MIHS
Jenny Foster has been appointed as associate principal at Mercer Island High School. The appointment is effective July 1 and is subject to approval by the School Board.
Jenny comes to Mercer Island from Mount Si High School in the Snoqualmie Valley School District, where she has served as a Spanish teacher since 2006. She currently serves as an administrative intern and Instructional Coach, mentoring teachers throughout the district. She was honored as Snoqualmie Valley Secondary Teacher of the Year in 2012. Jenny is bilingual, has lived abroad and led student travel groups to Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru and Europe.
“Jenny impressed us with her extensive teaching experiences. She loves working with high school age students and coaching and mentoring teachers. We are excited to welcome her to Mercer Island,” said MIHS Principal Vicki Puckett.
Jenny's previous experience includes teaching five years at Oregon State University (OSU), overseeing the teacher preparation program curriculum for graduate-level students, and as a Spanish teacher in Oregon school districts.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from OSU, Master of Science in Education from Western Oregon University, and Principal Certification from the Danforth Program at the University of Washington.
Jenny will succeed Jamie Prescott, who will become the District’s Director of Learning Services.
