Mercer Island School District announces bus routes

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. – August 20, 2014 – Today the Mercer Island School District (MISD) announced bus routes for the district’s three elementary schools, middle school and high school along with the Islander Middle School activity bus. The updated routes can be found online on the MISD website.

“Many routes have changed significantly for the 2014-15 school year,” said Todd Kelsay, MISD Director of Transportation. “Families should check the route documents online or contact me to make sure they have the latest route, stop and time information.”

Students should arrive at their bus stop five minutes prior to the scheduled arrival and parents are reminded not to forget about early dismissal Wednesdays.

Kelsay also reminded families that if their student is going to or from a bus stop other than their home bus stop, they should contact him in advance so the proper assignments can be made. “Non-home stop assignments from last year do not carry forward into the current school year,” Kelsay noted. “If it is a one-time change, a note given to the bus driver will work.”

Kelsay can be reached at (206) 236-3337 or
