KMIH 889 The Bridge earns 31 nominations for the Golden Microphone Awards

Mercer Island High School’s radio station, KMIH 889 The Bridge,  has received 31 nominations for the 79th Annual Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Golden Microphone Awards.

“I am super proud that our students have put in the national spotlight once again with these nominations,” said Joe Bryant, broadcast media instructor at MIHS and general manager of the station. “We are a team and it is through all our student broadcasters’ efforts that 889 The Bridge sounds so great!”

The Golden Microphone Awards will be presented at the annual IBS Conference in New York in March.

In 2018, KMIH 889 The Bridge won 13 Golden Microphone awards and the General Excellence award for the second consecutive year at the Washington State High School Radio Conference.
