November 13 MISD student vaccine clinic is filled to capacity

Dear Community,

The community demand for the 5-11-year-old Covid vaccine on November 13 exceeded supply and available appointments. We received word that within an hour of sending out our announcement yesterday the Costco site was no longer accepting registrations. This is both a good and bad problem.

We will be working with our Costco partners to check on the availability of more time slots on November 13 and/or offering another clinic date. Vaccine availability is going to be the primary variable.

Mercer Island School District is your partner in this and would like to provide information about other locations and options if either the original date was not going to work for your family or you were unable to register.

Thank you very much for your support and understanding.

Mercer Island School District

With the vaccine availability for 5-11 year-olds just rolling out, we are not certain where children will be able to get the vaccine. Here are a few options that might offer them:

Rite Aid: You can schedule an appointment for a COVID-19 booster online here. Many staff have already gotten boosters at both Rite Aid locations on Mercer Island. The North End Rite-Aid is located on the North End of Mercer Island, across from the post office. The South End Rite-Aid is located across from the South End QFC on 68th St.

Walgreens: Walgreens is scheduling appointments for the 5-11 age group at select locations beginning on November 6th. Schedule through their website.

Bartell Drugstore: Bartell's will also provide COVID-19 boosters. Bartell Drugs identifies this as a "3rd-dose" of COVID-19 vaccination. You can schedule an appointment online using this link.

UW Physicians: UW Physicians are adding patients through a waitlist. See their website for information:

Virginia Mason: Virginia Mason is partnering with the City of Seattle and Swedish Medical Center to provide COVID-19 vaccinations and booster doses at the Amazon Meeting Center in downtown Seattle. For more information, please schedule here. They have great availability at the moment.

Fred Meyer: Many Fred Meyer's have COVID-19 booster shots available. Please check for appointments here.

Your PCP: Your primary care physician may also be able to provide you with a COVID-19 Booster OR direct you to a resource.
