Jody Lee Bio
Jody Lee moved to Mercer Island in 2016. The eldest of her two sons is a MISD graduate, currently in college in California, and the youngest is a student at MIHS.
Prior to relocating to Washington, she was the Dispute Resolution Specialist at the US Department of State, responsible for the program that provided mediation and other conflict resolution services for internal and inter-agency disputes at embassies and in DC. She also taught mediation to diplomats at the Foreign Service Institute. She has a Master’s in Conflict Resolution and Cross-Cultural Communication from the School of International Service at The American University, and a BA (with honors) in Political Science & French from Rutgers University. She started her career in public service as a Presidential Management Fellow after grad school.
Since moving to the island, Jody has been a dedicated school and community volunteer. Her service includes PTSA positions as room parent, new family coordinator, and parent representative to many committees at the school and district level; team manager for years (and years) of soccer and mountain bike teams; and serves on non-profit boards supporting student mental health, arts advocacy, and sports access.
