Superintendent Teaching & Learning Advisory

Student learning- socially, emotionally, and intellectually- is the heart of our work. The Superintendent's Teaching and Learning Advisory (STLA) is a forum for stakeholders from across the District to meet, discuss, and share information about teaching and learning initiatives in each of the six schools. The STLA is an advisory group consisting of two previous committees: the Learning Services Advisory Committee and the Superintendent's Advisory Committee. District Administrative Policy 2006A will continue to guide the work of the STLA.

The primary purpose of the STLA is to advise the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent and Learning Services team about the instructional program. However, members of the STLA also assist in brainstorming new ideas, disseminating information to other stakeholders, and providing critical feedback. Except in certain circumstances, the STLA is not a decision-making group.

The Committee has been tasked with the following charges:

  • Disseminate information about current and upcoming Learning Services initiatives, including timelines, student impact, and resource implications;
  • Gather and provide input, perspective, and insight on current and potential instructional programs; and
  • Advise the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent and Learning Services teams.

If you are interested in joining this committee, please contact Jamie Prescott, Director of Learning Services or Nova Williams, Director of Learning Services.

The Committee will meet approximately five times a year.
