MIHS Math Instructional Resource Adoption Committee

The Mercer Island School District is engaged in a process to select and adopt new teaching and learning resources (curriculum) for our Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry math courses. Go to the MIHS Math Instructional Resource Adoption Committee page.

Math Proficiency Exams

If your student is interested in taking a math proficiency exam to demonstrate mastery of content in an effort to "skip" a middle school math course, please complete the nomination form below.

These assessments are open to current 5th-7th grade students.

Students may not "skip" algebra as it is a high school graduation requirement.

Testing will occur at our four elementary schools and Islander Middle School on May 29, 2024.

Current 6th & 7th graders will test at IMS.

Current 5th graders will test at their respective elementary schools.

Additional details will be provided via email by May 17, 2024 to those who nominate their student(s).
