Special Education
Special education is a range of services that can be provided in different ways in a variety of settings as defined by a students Individualized Education Program (IEP).  It is highly individualized. There is no "one size fits all" approach.

Students are the priority! We are committed to all students and provide a continuum of services at all levels.

New to Mercer Island
Welcome to Mercer Island! In order to assist in your student's successful transition to special services within Mercer Island School District, we will need a complete set of educational records -- especially the student's most recent school district evaluation and IEP. These records should be sent to SpecialServices@mercerislandschools.org. If you have any questions, please reach out to our office at 206-236-3329.

Wondering if your student needs special services?
If you suspect that your school-age child has a disability that is impacting their education, please contact the school psychologist at your child's school by email or phone.
