Welcome to the West Mercer Elementary construction home page!

West Mercer Elementary School is one of four elementary schools in the Mercer Island School District and was originally built in 1964. When West Mercer Elementary was built it consisted of five separate buildings and one covered play area. Since 1964 West Mercer has been through a number of small scale renovations and one significant remodel in 1995 by Harthorne Hagen Architects. In the 1995 remodel a roof was built over the five existing buildings creating the single structure we know today. The 1995 addition added 16,800 sq. ft. to the campus. West Mercer Elementary currently stands at approximately 54,000 sq. ft. and houses over 500 students.

Please refer below for a general timeline of all of the projects as well as a few links with more information and photos of the renovations.
