Capital Projects

The capital projects team for the Mercer Island School District works to use the bond and levy money provided to MISD to improve and develop the District's school site and facilities.

For example, in February 2014, Mercer Island voters passed a $98.8 million school construction bond focused on addressing capacity issues at the elementary, middle and high school grade levels. The Long Range Facility Planning Committee served as the long-term planning guide for potential MISD facility and grounds design and construction and maintenance work for the 2014 bond monies, ensuring the work was completed on-time and on-budget. The Committee has been reconvened in 2023 to update the District's Long Range Facility Plan (LRFP).
