MISD Open Enrollment Community Webinar Scheduled For March 19
Mercer Island, WA, March 12, 2024 – The Mercer Island School District will host a community webinar on Open Enrollment on Tuesday, March 19 from 6:30-7:30pm.
Mercer Island School District Board policy requires the Superintendent to determine no later than April 15 annually if the district will be open to new nonresident student enrollment for the next school year. More information on residency requirements for enrollment in MISD can be found on our website.
Superintendent Fred Rundle and the School Board have been discussing open enrollment at recent Board meetings as they work towards a decision. The webinar will update our community on these discussions and highlight the possible options, logistics, and parameters of open enrollment if the district decides to move in this direction.

Superintendent Rundle will host the webinar and be joined by these MISD staff members:
- Nick Wold, MIHS Principal
- Lindsey Blaine, MIHS Athletic Director
- Jamie Prescott, MISD Director of Learning Services
- Jen McLellan, MIHS Career and Technical Education Director
Superintendent Rundle will take questions from community members during the webinar.
The Board will be discussing open enrollment at the Board Meetings on Thursday, March 14 and Thursday, March 28.
The webinar will be recorded and made available the next day on our YouTube channel and district website.
This open enrollment webinar was originally scheduled on Monday, March 11 but was rescheduled to Tuesday, March 19.
