MISD Hosting Budget and Human Resources Community Zoom Webinar on February 6
Mercer Island, WA, January 24, 2024 – The Mercer Island School District is hosting a district Budget and Human Resources community Zoom webinar on Tuesday, February 6 from 6-7pm.
The purpose of the webinar is to update our community on the current MISD budget, student enrollment, and staffing.
Superintendent Dr. Fred Rundle will lead the webinar, which will include presentations from:
- Erin Battersby, Executive Director – Compliance, Legal Affairs, & Human Resources
- Matt Sullivan, Executive Director – Finance & Operations
- Kay Adams, Director of Finance
The Zoom webinar will be recorded and made available on the MISD website and YouTube channel for community members who are not able to tune in live.

The National PTA’s Reflections program has once again inspired students from pre-K to grade 12 in Mercer Island School District to explore their thoughts, feelings, and ideas through original artwork. This year’s theme, "Accepting Imperfection," challenged young artists to embrace flaws and express their creativity in unique ways.

All four Mercer Island School District Elementary Schools will be hosting school tours on Wednesday, February 26 and Friday, March 28. The tours will take place from 10am-11am.
Late yesterday evening, individuals trespassed onto the Islander Middle School (IMS) grounds and defaced numerous windows and exterior walls with antisemitic and racist symbols and phrases.
This abhorrent act of hate is not only a violation of our community’s shared values, but an attack on the principles of inclusion, respect, and safety that we work every day to uphold in our community.
