7 MIHS Band Students Heading To State Contest in April

Mercer Island, WA, February 1, 2024 – Seven Mercer Island High School Band students were category winners at the Eastshore Solo and Ensemble festival on January 27 at Mt. Si high school.

“Great performances, smiles, and support were the norm in each room and it was especially fun to see so many of their to support the players in each room,” said MIHS Band Co-Director Parker Bixby.

There were also eight MIHS students who were selected as alternates in 14 categories.

The winners have earned a bid to participate in the State Contest to be held at Central Washington University in April.
