Maggie Tai Tucker Bio

Maggie Tai Tucker is a pediatric occupational therapist (OT), parent of one current MISD student and two recent MISD graduates, and an active community volunteer.

Her older children were born in Seattle but began school in Shanghai, China, where the family lived for five years. In Shanghai, Maggie Tai co-founded a chain of pediatric therapy clinics, did pro bono work for non-profits working with orphanages, and was active in USA Girl Scouts Overseas. The family moved to Mercer Island in 2012. From 2013 to 2016, Maggie Tai worked at Seattle Children's Hospital, doing intensive feeding therapy at the Autism Center.

Since then, Maggie Tai has been focusing on her family and on community work related to children’s health, animals, and the environment. She volunteers with Hope Animal Assisted Crisis Response, deploying around the region with a specially trained crisis response therapy dog. Maggie Tai is currently earning a master’s of social work (MSW) degree online at Fordham University. She previously earned an AB in American History and Literature from Harvard University, a post-baccalaureate BS in Zoology from the University of Washington, and a master’s in occupational therapy (MOT), also from UW.
