MIHS Math Instructional Resource Adoption Committee

The Mercer Island School District is engaged in a process to select and adopt new teaching and learning resources (curriculum) for our Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry math courses.

From November 21 to December 9 we will have the three potential curricula under consideration for the MIHS Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry math  adoption on display for public input in the foyer at the MISD Administration Building. The MISD Administration Building address is 4160, 86th Avenue SE.

The District would like feedback from students, parents, staff, and community members during this time period.

The adoption materials cannot be removed or checked out, but there is a seating area available and we will have QR codes for people to use their cell phones or iPads to scan and complete a brief survey to provide their input.

Additionally, MIHS Math Department Chair, Kate Yoder, will be available to answer questions during two Curricula Open Houses at the Admin Building on December 1 and December 5 from 3pm-4pm.

All public input will be shared with the MIHS Math Committee at their December meeting prior to their selection of the final curriculum to present to the Instructional Materials Committee in January 2023.

Teachers and administrators have been engaged in this process for nearly three years. The goal is to recommend new instructional materials to the District's Instructional Materials Committee by the end of January 2023.

Community members were invited to participate on the MIHS Math Instructional Resource Adoption Committee in October through a survey. This participation included two meetings.
