As part of Board Policy 1800 OE-9, Communication and Support to the Board, Superintendent Dr. Fred Rundle provides an MISD enrollment update to the Board every December.

Demographic Studies
As part of the Long Range Facility Plan (LRFP) the district commissioned two demographic studies to provide information to the LRFP Committee as they developed recommendations for future improvements to our schools.

Open Enrollment
Each year, no later than April 15, the superintendent or designee shall advise the Mercer Island School District Board whether it is recommended that the District, or a portion thereof, be open or closed to new, nonresident student enrollment. The Board will determine whether to accept, amend, deny, or return the recommendation to the superintendent for further analysis and review.
For the 2024-25 school year MISD has Open Enrollment for students in 8th through 12th grade.
