Sign Up For Newsletters

The Mercer Island School District has several newsletters community members can join to receive news, information, and alerts from the District and our schools. Newsletters will be sent via email and text message using our ParentSquare communications platform.

When you select a newsletter to receive you will be asked to provide your name, email address, and cell phone number. If community members download the ParentSquare iOS App or Android App, they can set their notification preferences and choose the language they would like to receive message in.

MISD Community Members Group – This group is a ParentSquare distribution list that community members who do not have students in the district can sign up for to receive news and information about the District. MISD regularly sends out news and information to families and students about community events, student successes, weather impacts on school operations, letters from Superintendent Dr. Fred Rundle, school events, and other happenings in the district.

MIHS Alumni Community Members Group – This group is a ParentSquare distribution list for MIHS Alumni to receive news, information, and newsletter from the District to stay informed about what is happening at their alma mater.

Superintendent Community Members Group – This community group is for non MISD parent community members who would like receive messages and newsletters from MISD Superintendent Dr. Fred Rundle.

LRFP Community Members Group – Sign up for this distribution list if you are a community member who would specifically like to receive messages from the District about the Long Range Facility Plan or the Long Range Facility Planning Committee.

MIHS Community Members Group – This group is a ParentSquare distribution list that non-parent community members can sign up for to receive messages from MIHS, specifically Principal Nick Wold's monthly newsletter.

IMS Community Members Group – This group is for Islander Middle School community members who are not parents of students at the school to sign up to receive messages from the school about PTA events, school news, and other school related messages.

Island Park Community Members Group – This group is for Island Park community members who are not parents of students at the school to sign up to receive messages from the school about PTA events, school news, and other school related messages.

Lakeridge Community Members Group – This group is for Lakeridge community members who are not parents of students at the school to sign up to receive messages from the school about PTA events, school news, and other school related messages.

Northwood Community Members Group – This group is for Northwood community members who are not parents of students at the school to sign up to receive messages from the school about PTA events, school news, and other school related messages.

West Mercer Community Members Group – This group is for West Mercer community members who are not parents of students at the school to sign up to receive messages from the school about PTA events, school news, and other school related messages.

MI Preschool Community Members Group – Parents of preschoolers attending a Mercer Island preschool or parents of children who are not yet in school can join this group to receive messages from the District. If parents want messages from a specific school they should join that school's Community Members Group.

MI Realtors Community Members Group – If you are a Mercer Island Realtor we suggest joining this group to receive message from the District that you can share with potential clients when they have questions about our schools or the District.

Snow Closures – Mercer Island residents, organizations, businesses, and community members can receive message about MISD school closures and delays due to inclement weather by joining this group. The District aims to have messages to the community about snow closures or delays by 6am on the morning of the possible closure or delay.

If you are a middle school student, high school student, or a parent of a student in MISD you do not need to sign up for these newsletters. You will receive them automatically because your contact information is in ParentSquare.
