Important Announcements

  • updated 10/12/2020

On October 6th, the Governor’s office, in collaboration with the Department of Health and Washington State Activities Association, introduced new guidelines for a return to organized youth, school and adult sports.  Those guidelines are being reviewed and we are preparing to implement them, in conjunction with other efforts to bring students back to in-person opportunities. Please keep an eye out for updates on return to practice as the information becomes available.  Here is a link to new guidelines

The WIAA Executive Board took action on July 22nd to modify the 2020-21 WIAA sports season calendar in light of COVID-19

The changes will create four WIAA-sanctioned seasons and will also move moderate- and high-risk team sports, originally scheduled for the fall season, to the WIAA Season 3.  All MIHS sports participation, WIAA or club, will be subject to MISD approval.

The WIAA Executive Board and planning committees are working under the Return-To-Activity Guidelines supported and co-authored by the National Federation of High Schools, Washington Department of Health and the Governor’s Office, as well as sport-specific guidelines set forth by WIAA committees made up of coaches, athletic directors, students, officials and local health professionals. Those guidelines can be found on the WIAA Website.  For a more specific, but tentative season calendar click here.   Unified Seasons are to be determined based on MISD approval.
