Online Learning Resources
Following thoughtful consideration of our students and collaboration between coaches, teachers, and administrators, the Mercer Island School District is providing online resources to promote and extend learning during this unprecedented closure. Our intent is for these options to help students and families continue to engage in the academic process. We are committed to ensuring equitable access to a free and appropriate education (FAPE) for all students;
We believe that it is in our students’ best interest to provide resources during an extended closure to practice and utilize what has already been learned. Teachers, coaches, principals, and members of the Instructional Technology team have been working behind the scenes to prepare access to an array of online learning resources.
In order to provide equitable access to online learning resources during the school closures, we have created a process for families to request that the district provide a student iPad and/or a mobile hotspot for internet access. This will be extended to our elementary families as well as our middle and high school families. If your student does not have access to wireless internet or a device to access online resources, please complete the School Closure Assistance Survey. We expect to make the mobile hotspots and student iPads available for families to pick up from our administration building this week.
