Compass Program currently serves students whose behavior gets in the way of them accessing their education. By using a specific intake process, each school determines if the program can best meet the individualized needs of the student. Compass Program is a service for Mercer Island School District students whose neighborhood school cannot provide the level of services to meet their academic and behavioral needs. These schools present data and documentation of academic and behavioral interventions before a student can be considered for Compass Program. The process of moving into and out of Compass Program follows district level protocols that are data-driven and team focused.
