Translation and Interpretation Services

The Mercer Island School District provides limited English proficient parents with information in their own language so that they can make informed decisions about their children's education. This includes providing interpretation and translation services for vital meetings and communications. Kindergarten

The 2016-2017 Kindergarten Registration Packets are now available. Please download the appropriate packet below. Submit completed packets to the front desk administrative assistants at your neighborhood school.
 
Northwood Elementary will open in late August, 2016. Until then, Northwood packets should go to Mary Newcomer at the district administration building, 4160 86th AVE SE. You can reach Mary at 206-230-6336.

Completed registration packets should be returned to any of the three elementary schools. Packets for our fourth elementary school, Northwood, should be taken to the district administration building until Northwood opens in August 2016. See packet for more information.
 
 

Grades 6-8

Registration can only be accomplished at Islander Middle School. Please contact the registrar at 206-230-6160 for appointment and questions. Please complete and bring the following to the appointment a Student Enrollment form, an Ethnicity and Race Data Report, a D.O.H. Certificate of Immunization,  a D.O.H Certificate of Exemption (if applicable), a Home Language Survey (English, Other Language), a Gator Greeting form, and a Transfer of records form. A copy of the student's most recent report card and any national testing scores would be helpful. Please call 206-230-6160 beginning August 8 to set up an appointment to register your student. Grades 9-12 and Adult Transition Students

Students in Grades 9-12 and adult transition students use this Student Enrollment form. You will also need to complete an Ethnicity and Race Data Report, a D.O.H. Certificate of Immunization, a D.O.H Certificate of Exemption (if applicable), and a Home Language Survey (English, Other Language). You will also find the Four Year Plan of Study, Graduation Requirements for the Class of 2015 and beyond, the High School Profile and the High School Course Descriptions sheets helpful. Students interested in sports should examine the MIHS Sports web pages and the Division I Academic Eligibility Requirements. Actual registration for the 205-16 school year can only be accomplished in person at Mercer Island High School. Students should call 206-236-3359. VOTER INFORMATION

Our schools, as well as the City of Mercer Island town clerk, the Mercer Island Library and the Mercer Island Fire Station all have mail-in voter registration forms. You must be registered for 30 days before an election to be qualified to vote.

Registered voters may apply for absentee ballots 45 days prior to any election by mail, telephone, or in person at the King County Elections Office. Call 206-296-VOTE (8683) or FAX 206-205-5080.
