With the announcement of Superintendent Dr. Gary Plano’s departure June 30, the Mercer Island School Board has begun the process of seeking a new leader to work closely with families, educators, and the community. February 16, 2017 - KMIH 88.9 FM The Bridge, the Mercer Island High School student radio station, will no longer be simulcast on 94.5 FM effective February 23, 2017.
February 16, 2017 - The Mercer Island School District has begun the process of updating its 2012 Demographic Study as a best practice for long term planning for operations, transportation, and facility needs as population data for the next five years and beyond is studied and analyzed.
January 26, 2017 - There have been no weather-related school cancellations thus far this year, and Thursday, February 16 was reserved as a school make-up day. If there is no single weather-related missed day through February 1, the District will include February 16 as a non-school day. However, if there is a major weather-related event (more than one school day missed), the District may still need to use February 16 as a make-up day.
